MR. BLANCHARD:  Good afternoon.  It's my pleasure to give the membership report.  I'll be introducing several new member schools in a moment. Burch just introduced one of our three categories, which are our honorary members.  I want to introduce all of them again.  Diana Beebe, who was president from 1999 to 2001.  Evy Halpert and her husband, Ed, 1995 to 1997.  Edes Gilbert, president from 1997 to 1999.  Blair Stambaugh, president from 1989 to 1991. Julia Williams, president from 1987 to 1989.  Nancy Kussrow, president from 1977 to 1979 and executive director from 1981 to 1996.  And finally, Joan Twaddle, treasurer, 1980 to 1988, and she was the financial secretary from 1988 to 2000.

Would you please join me in giving them a round of applause?  That's our first group of membership.

There are two other membership categories. A, the schools that may have a second member, a member of the academic administration, and former heads of member schools who are offered affiliate membership status.  We welcome new affiliate members and new second members.  If you are a new affiliate or a second member at the conference this year, will you please stand and be recognized?

And if you are a new head at a continuing member school, please stand and be recognized.  A new head at a continuing member school.

We have a revised fee structure that Burch mentioned, and it's been great.  It used to be that this meeting was very secret, as you can tell, so we welcome all of our spouses here to hear what was going on.  It's great to have everybody.  So all spouses and partners, new or not to NAPSG, will you please stand and be welcomed to our secret meeting? Welcome.  We're glad you're here.

We have two special guests with us this year.  Both are heads of schools with membership pending completion of accreditation.  I'd like to welcome them and ask them to stand if they're here. Nancy Davies from Orchard House School in Richmond, Virginia.  Nancy, welcome.

And Catherine Hunter from Friends School in San Francisco, California.

And now it is a great pleasure to introduce our new member schools.  If you would please stand as I call your school, and I will also introduce you as the head.  Barstow School, Kansas City, Missouri, Art Atkinson.  Please stand if you're here.

Community School, Sun Valley, Idaho, Andy Jones-Wilkins.  Welcome.

Idyllwild Arts Academy, Idyllwild, California, Bill Lowman.

Latin School of Chicago, rejoining. Donald Firke, are you here?

Marianapolis Preparatory School, Thompson, Connecticut, Marilyn Ebbitt.

Miami Valley School, Dayton, Ohio, Peter Benedict.  Welcome.

Two schools are not here, but we should welcome them anyway.  Mercy High School from San Francisco California, Dr. Dorothy McCrea, and St. Francis School, Goshen, Kentucky, John Delautre.

St. John's Country Day School, Orange Park, Florida, Holly Powers.  Holly, are you here? Saint Gregory School, Tucson, and local, Bill Creeden. Bill, hello.

Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, Bethesda, Maryland, Dr. Richard Barbieri, fifth new school.

United World College USA, Montezuma, New Mexico, Lisa Darling.  Lisa, welcome back.

And Calvert School, who was new last year, but not present, but is here, I hope this year, is Andy Martire.  Welcome, one and all.

     (The lights went out.)

Finally, I would state our membership is alive and well, even in darkness, and we have 326 new members.  Since you can't see everybody, I was going to say, all those that are new, who are here for the first time, please stand.  But we're glad everybody is here.  Thank you.
