FIRST NAPSG OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Presented to
Dr. Nannerl O. Keohane

I have asked Dr. Keohane to stay up here with me, because I would like her to be here to hear what I'm about to say, and be right next to me.

At the November Council meeting of NAPSG, we made a decision about something we thought would be a very important initiative, and we thought that tonight Nan Keohane would be the best person to begin this very important initiative.  It is called the NAPSG Outstanding Achievement Award, and the citation reads, "At the November 27th meeting of the NAPSG Council, it was proposed and unanimously endorsed that NAPSG establish an award to be made from time to time in recognition of outstanding professional achievement in education with a particular focus on the education of girls and young women.  We are delighted to present the first NAPSG Outstanding Achievement Award to Dr. Nannerl  Keohane, college president, Phi Beta Kappa scholar, college professor, and faculty senate chair, author in the fields of political philosophy, feminism, and education, and member of the Women's Hall of Fame.

Dr. Keohane, your career brings the mission of NAPSG to life.  We are proud to present you with our first Outstanding Achievement Award.

DR. KEOHANE:  I am very deeply grateful. I cannot imagine a higher honor.  Thank you very much.
