There are two votes that we need to bring before the
membership, so I will ask your help with this. The first is
that we want to make an amendment to the bylaws. The term of
secretary has historically been a two-year term, while the other
offices have been three years. And we thought that it made
sense for them all to be the same length of time. The
original thinking was that the job of secretary was so onerous
that it probably should not be as long a term as that of the
others. However, we have decided that with the incredible
help of our executive director, Bruce Galbraith, we might make
this one the same length as all the others.
So I would like to ask if you would entertain a motion that we
change the two-year term in the bylaws for the secretary to three
years. That will enable us to keep Bo Lauder, who's our second
current secretary, for one more year. And as you probably
know, the officers stay on for an additional year after their
terms have expired.
(Moved and seconded.)
All those in favor? Opposed? Thank you very
much. (Carried Unanimously)
